Quick Update

Played some NLHE cash games this past weekend and finished up about 6 buy-ins. Basically just played somewhat tight, very aggressive poker. I also avoided making any big mistakes/misreads which is always nice. I am looking forward to my Winter Break in December so I can get back into playing some MTT's on a fairly regular basis. But for now I will continue to stick to cash games as time permits. I'm also gonna try to remember to save interesting HH's in the future to post on here.

A Little Background Info

Hello everyone. I created this blog as a way to follow my journey as a poker player and to talk about whatever else is on my mind.

So...a little background info. I am an 18 year old college student from Philadelphia, PA. Like many other Philadelphians, I am wholeheartedly dedicated to all of our losing franchises. Ah well, on to poker...

I got into poker my Sophomore year of high school playing $5 home games with some buddies. We played strictly NLHE as was the norm after the Moneymaker WSOP win. Anyways, we would play small $5-$10 cash games and tournies on weekends, and somedays after school. By Junior and Senior Year we had a fairly consistent $25 max cash game that we would run most weekends.

I had been itching to deposit money online, so on my 18th birthday I deposited $200 on Stars. My parents were very skeptical and unapproving at first, so I told them that if I went busto I would never play ever again. (I was, and still am very confident in my skills both at the tables and with BR managment) They agreed that this seemed reasonable, and once I hit the $1K mark about 3 months later they were pretty supportive.

So now I sit at about $1800, just from grinding micro limit cash games NLHE and some PLO, and a few micro tournies every once in a while. It is a constant struggle balancing poker with schoolwork but I am keeping the grades up as well as the BR so hopefully I can have continued success with both.
